Sensitive Site List

A Sensitive Site List is a list of geographic areas you would like to keep an eye on. If anything comes too close to a site, you would like to have Truxton tell you about it.

Sensitive Site Violation

A sensitive site violation (SSV) is generated when a geographic location exploited by Truxton came within the area of a sensitive site.

Operating Scenario

Imagine the operating scenario where a parole officer checks in on a sex offender client. One of the conditions of their parole is to stay at least 100 meters from any school in the county. The officer now has the unenviable job of gathering all of the geographic coordinates of places the offender has been and matching those up with school locations.

Truxton ships with a sensitive site list of "Fairfax County Schools" which contains all of the schools in Fairfax County, Virginia. During the stage of exploitation where reports are generated, Truxton will query the [SensitiveSite] and tag all locations that were too close to a site. The analyst (officer) then only needs to review the "SSV" tags to validate the potential parole violations.

Usage

To add a sensitive site list, a CSV file is needed with the appropriate headers labeled: Name, Longitude, Latitude, and Distance. Distance is always in meters.

Database Tables

There are two tables in Truxton that handle sensitive sites.

[SensitiveSiteList]

This contains the name and description of the list.

[SensitiveSite]

This contains the WGS84 coordinates and name of the sensitive site. It also contains the distance in meters around the site that makes it sensitive.
